At the craft fair yesterday a old man came up to me and started asking questions. One question he asked was were did I get the different woods from and I said from from all over the place. He suddenly said, when I die would you take a bit of the wood from my coffin and make a pen, I didn't know if I should laugh or cry.

Well having worked in funerals for 38 yrs that may have been a request to leave something very special behind for family...not sure how that would help them going forward mind... looking at it and thinking oh that’s part of XYZ’s coffin..

Mark is right saying that most coffins now are chipboard based but there are still many Oak ones used particularly burial.

Who knows there may be a new market:thinks:

I had visions of you cutting a piece off a coffin, the reaction of the family. Being practical it was an unusual request.

Peter.
