It seems from my previous posts that I may hit problems with shavings and dust running this machine in the bedroom, so I may have to wait till summer and do it outside or maybe find a workshop or friends garage where I can do the main roughing out and polish it up and assemble at home..

That is a shame Peter, still, you have the carvings to occupy your time, they are fantastic.

That's a pity Peter I must admit it does get a bit messy extracting dust and shavings is not as easy on a lathe compared to other power tools like bandsaws would not fancy turning in a room indoors. I have thought about moving my Scroll Saw indoors for the winter though. Any chance you could build a shed or have you no room an other alternative is your local mens shed my one has two wood lathes all ready.

Then run a domestic vacuum cleaner mate it will handle pen work easily. I presume you have carpet cleaning by vac at the moment.

Peter.

Can you not construct a shower curtain to go around the turning area and have something like a henry type vac to help with the dust side of things.

The curtain will help keep all of the shavings in one place
