I have had cause to complain ( ) to Axminster Tools this week..... Having scoured their clearance isles for the last few months, I was pleased with my Bitza workbench.... Bits of this and bits of that..... Then lo and behold, I get a marketing message about their new 'Fusion' workbench.... Okay, it's got a better name and looks slightly more celubrious, but to all intents and purposes, it's my bench.... Only mine didn't cost two grand !!!

Feeling smug  :whistling:

Thanks for the kind comments.

The Fusion benches from UKJ are beautiful benches and knowing the cost of the basic timber for my bench frame - about £140, I can only imagine the price of the hardwood for the UKJ one. Add to that the bench top and two vices and I could see over £1,000 in materials.... But really, if I'd paid £2k for a workbench I'd be wary of spilling coffee on it, let alone cutting into it with saws and chisels.

For the record, mine cost approx £100 for the UKJ top, another £100 for the Sjobergs vice (both from the clearance isles) £140 for the frame materials and a day or so to make. It's in constant use now..
