Hi All,
Another day off....Heaver castle was today's destination, the wood work in here is stunning. So I took a couple of pics as inspiration to other segmenting gurus @alan morrison
The walnut paneling was to die for and the sheer quantity/ quality OMG, you wouldn't have got that from ye olde

Mark, thank you for posting those photographs!
I was engrossed after enlarging them to take it all in.
The moulding and carving work above the mirror is fantastic.
The inlay work in the other photos I really like.
No doubt timber was plentiful in the days when they were made....and labour cheap.

I was amazed that they used bog Oak for the black timber...
I love historic buildings when they actually showcase the structure/ fabric of the build....

Wrong end of the country for you Mark, but Chatsworth House is well worth a visit if you get lost this far north :winking:
