Seeing Eds Laburnum and having a bit sitting in the shed, I had to go and see what it turned like in the flesh. Amazing stuff, I love it, so many colours. These two are from a single strip that I cut (using my saw with my new found knowledge) and were next to each other. The rest of the wood promises some super stuff.

That really is some striking grain, though I've never come across a piece of Laburnum I didn't like the look of.

Got to agree Paul, you have some striking grain especially the top one ... Pens look very nice to see you made your own center band ... :thumbs:

I just love Laburnum, not to keen on sapwood, but as a mix it's not bad, the heartwood is super cool, lovely pens.

I'll be up the shed again later to delve into the depths of some more laburnum. I'll have a look to see what other bits I've bought and haven't touched yet

Since joining this web site I have learned a lot in a very short time and I find it difficult to now make normal slimline pens as everyone turns out to be longwood :whistling:

Very nice I love Laburnum it can be quite stunning at times lovely pen well done sir :banana::banana::banana:
ps. could they be home made longwoods by chance :whistling:
