After reading Walter's article in Woodturning this month about alternative slimlines I thought I have a go and now I've got another 8 to finish and these are two I tried. Top one is spalted oak and the bottom one is olive ash.

how do you put in a refill ?

They are known as long wood pens Tom, you only glue the top tube in and pull the refill out by the nib end.

You also propelled the nib by holding the nib and twisting the top.

Have a look at Walters tut, that will help.
