My Buildings and Contents Insurance are up for renewal at the end of the month. Instead of the usual I can't be bothered to look for new quotes and just let it roll. I decided to do a Compare the Market search. Quite simples to do and I was astonished at the quotes that I got back.

I increased the cover that I had, and got a much more comprehensive cover policy and the cost was almost half as much as my previous insurer.

So if any of you are due to re- insure shop around you will be surprised at what is on offer.

As a rule I always change insurance companies every couple of years and always seem to get a better deal

This year I attempted this but got bogged down in deep search into the small print on each policy, minimums and rebates. One thing I aim for is a fixed minimum value not their special market value.

Yes I will persevere thanks for the reminder.

Peter.
