A great combo Eamonn. Great figuring on that box. I can tell you're very proud of that, and rightly so. You started a thread about endangered exotics, but frankly, quarter sawn English oak is hard to beat, and your box is proof positive of that.

Thanks for that Phil, and I totally agree that we have some great woods to utilise.

Yes I am very proud, and so of all my boxes but when the 1/4 sawn comes out like this I just get they extra buzz and love it.

I have just done another Lignum Vitae box, although the wood has such history and status I was a little “underwhelmed “ by the grain structure and finished box.

This pen and box combo isn’t tied in holy matrimony as yet so they could well end up separated and with different partners, got to keep the theme modern.
