I've just about run out of CA glue for finishing pens so need to purchase some more! I have been using Chestnut & some I purchased from TM but am wondering if it's all pretty much the same or are some better quality than others?

I don't want to start a debate on other finishes as I already use Melamine Laquer on a lot of my pens and there are plenty of discussions regarding different finishes on other posts.

Yes, I'm lead to believe there is a lot of difference. The person that knows about this in depth is Ed Street EStreet, and there's a paper by him somewhere around. I can't seem to find it, but if he pops in he'll be able to tell you. Alternatively Walter Hall knows where to find it I think, and despite his views on the stuff he may also be able to contribute to the facts.

I've found it easy to adapt to the small differences in viscosity etc and manage to get the same quality of finish no matter what.

If you are only using it to glue the tubes in pens like me i use screwfix own brand superglue and it resonably priced and i find it does just as good a job but this what works for me

Zap is supposed to be good stuff. I read somewhere it's good to keep CA glue it in the Fridge to increase shelf life.

Zap has a big following in aeromodelling circles - there are many different types for different applications. Which might be best for finishing pens though, I know not!!

Sounds like the medium may be the one for finishing but I've ordered a bottle of each of the Thin & Medium :thinks:
