Anything is possible, but at what cost..
If you have a faceplate you could mount a 3 jaw chuck to it.
Chronos used to do a chuck that you can remove the backplate and fit it to your own. You would need someone with a metal lathe to drill your faceplate to suit the mounting holes on the new chuck tho.
you could get an engineering company to make up an adaptor for you to fit any proprietary scroll chuck you choose.
But, there is a cost. That's why so many haven't bothered and have traded up and brought an hobby Axminster or a Record machine..
If you have a metal lathe at your disposal then sure you could get anything made for it.
Turning between centres is a good option if you have a single point dead centre available.
