I agree with what Phil said about the CA, I'm amazed he has any fingers at all, he was very careless and any beginner trying that without experience of CA could have problems. I think that's a prime example of the poor info video side of youtube!

Apart from that the edges of the offcuts aren't square or even true so there were obvious gaps and they're out of line. All show clearly in the finished pen and just a waste of a kit imo.

It does not matter how careful I am with CA I can always get more on my fingers than the part being glued, most of the time my finger are stuck together and the part falls apart

I do quite a bit of crop end turning & I always wear gloves & fume mask. I like to put my joints at 45 degrees to the blank. The eye doesn’t pick up the joint as easily as it does when the joint is straight across.
