Hello again guys,

As some of you may have seen from one of my previous posts (which mistral.), I ordered some gorgeous red Conway Stewart blanks off of the bay of fleas and failed utterly to read description... "these are only suitable for 7mm slimline style kits" and they weren't kidding! I would be terrified about drilling one of these little beauties. They will eventually become gorgeous slim lines but they are no use for the mistral kits I have coming.
:sob:

So here's my problem I need to turn the pens as soon possible they are a belated Christmas present for a dear dear friend, but I now don't have any red. I adore these blanks but I need a replacement pair of red acrylic blanks. What is the reddest red blank you've seen? Made? Can Make?
I'll be honest I'm pretty desperate and would consider most things!!
:praying:

I have 4 of these blanks that I purchased earlier last year, £4 each if you want them? I can get them in the post tommorow along with your glitter blank for £3.50 first class post. Note pen not included :-)

Can you take a snapshot of what is is you are trying to match Andy?

I have 3 boxes here with about 1200 blanks in them that haven't made it onto the Beaufort website yet because of Christmas, and there are plenty of red variations in there. I also have plain red ebonite in stock, which is on the website, but currently no photo - although there's a pen made from it here http://www.penturners.co.uk/pen-of-the-week/20894-pen-week-11th-december-2017-a.html

A photo from you would help though.

No way to get blanks from this side in time...sorry. Praying a quiet "pen maker prayer."
If the OD of the blanks you have will work, you can start boring the ID one size at a time. They are just "stuff." They are just "things." Bore gently and have at it. If you're not afraid of the OD, the ID is just careful boring. Make a wish and turn on the lathe. Show no fear!:goesred:

:funny:

If it's the blanks I am thinking of Andy s problem may is that the OD of the blank will be smaller than the ID of the top section of the Mistral..so I think it will need more than "no fear"

As Eamonn says they are far smaller than a Mistral sadly. I would worry drilling a 7mm hole for slimline tbh but that's more my cowardice than anything else!!

are the blanks I bought and I love them and one day they will make lovely slimlines!!
