Another pen made from a timber I've never worked with before - Ivy - mainly because it is rare to find ivy large enough to turn. The wood was quite difficult to turn smoothly as it seemed prone to having feathered strands which seem to try and resist being sanded smooth! It might have benefitted from stabilising.....although it wasn't soft or punky.....just fibrous on the ends.

I find that when the wood doesn't want to co-operate with the
sanding process I give 'em a shot of CA.
That'll fix 'em
