Managed to grab a couple of hours in the shed.
The plan was to turn a pen for a friend in Singapore, has to be Jade.
I found this blank at Turners Retreat looks pretty good - photos don't show off the subtle green tint or the shine, but you can see the brown streaks running through...

Thoughts :thinks:

At my place of work they got a Roland MonoFab CNC, so being a bit nosey, had a play and knocked this candle holder out of oak that I had lying around.
You can see the lines where I experimented with how it done its finishing
Not a bad bit of kit. but very is limited to the size of work and materials it can mill..
One of my next projects/bucket list, is to see if I can build one..... Hmmmmmm - let see what happens.

It looked like a fancy version of the cup/mug holder I use during winter time to stop my mug sitting on a cold steel bench, I am going to steal the design.
The wife was complaining that I made one for myself and not one for her she can have my old one.

Very nice Rowdy. With Brian and David on here having both built a cnc you should be able to get some good help.
