Finishing some older projects. This coffee table has a turned leg, so it should be eligible for this thread:) Top is made of Jarrah burl, leg is made of rose gum with huon pine spindle. All wood except huon pine are very hard, so the table is mighty stable and feels very solid.

Spellbound Ilya with your Jarrah Burl top and unique split turned support with the spindle in. I note the timber floor when we had our children our floors were polished timber so easy to maintain so with your little guy now ideal also. For a scientist PHD you are by far the most competent person I have met in my life with skills in so many hobby pursuits. I know you have not been turning long and this is another example of outstanding craftsmanship. By far the best Jarrah Burl I have seen on forums ever.

Kind regards mate.

Thanks, Peter, for kind words! This burl table top took me weeks to finish (and many years to dry). You know, all these burls have so many empty spaces inside, and I do not like empty spaces, even worse - the holes and cracks in the table top! So I was filling this with epoxy. A lot of epoxy. So I hope it is now stable enough to stay flat for ages :)
