I also did a wooden pen with Jim's style of centre band. This is walnut with a zebrano centre. Not sure it was the best wood to use and the whole zebrano blank was a bitch to drill. It would not go through straight for anything. Not going to use that again. Anyway I'll let you all be the judge of the result.

Nice pen Ray, the only slight criticism would be that in my opinion you need more of a contrast with the two woods. Other than that mate, good job.

I do agree that Zebrano isn't a good choice of wood to use for the C/B Ray, it is to porous and tears very easy .. But the overall look of the pen looks pretty decent my friend .. :thumbs:
