I personaly can't see the point of the black accent where it is, and TBH doesn't add anything to the kit. That's my opinion.
If they wanted it to be an accent then the quality of the coating should also be a better quality rather than a paint.
Yes it does have a plastic thread screwing down on it so theoretically it shouldn't wear away, but if you ask others that have seen this on other kits it does wear or scratch.
Check Peters (buckeye) thread on the comparisons, that will show the differences between the kits. Add this one to the pot and you will see the difference.
