I had this Spalted Apple blank left that Woody sent over to me, but it was too small to make both blanks on a JR Gents Rollerball, so i decided to put in a patch of Beech and Blackwood to make up the size .. Given a friction polish finish it turned out ok'ish .. :bwink:

Strange as it might sound Jim I think that pattern would be better with plain woods.
None the less a fantastic pen init?

It's a cracker, but I think CA would probably have been a better finish.

A very nice pen Jim, but I'm with Brian that the apple might have been better on its own.

Nice touch, but...... I disagree with the other old codgers on here Jim.. I believe it's done justice to an otherwise piece of wood that would not have made it on to a pen of that quality so I believe that the wood has allot to thank you for..:whistling:

Ignore the oldies and senile and listen to the young wipper snappers..

The band would look out of place if it didn't complement the colour of the apple, but this is spot on Jim, really like this.:thumbs:
