Some nice coloring in that Juniper.
Great looking finish except for the sanding/finish rings.

Les

He beat me to it, you can't leave rings like that when you criticise others about them:bwink:

Yes I can! I just did.

And frankly I'm at a loss as to how to get rid of them. I don't sand with lathe running, they're not sanding lines and after sanding to 400 again with the lathe stationery after putting on the ca, worked through the mm grades and spent about three minutes with burnishing cream. Only thing I can think of is that there must have been a bit of muck on the blue tissue that caused the marks, but they are hardly visible on the completed pen, but it doesn't look perfect, I'm with you on that.

I don't have time at the moment, but I could come and show you how to do a proper CA finish, probably not before the New Year though:thumbs:

Nice Pens Neil, if you ever need a lesson, pop down :funny:

I haven't seen Juniper before and it certainly is nice. Nicely turned into your signature shape and there may be a few rings but they'll sell... £50 a load down this way :funny:

Paul,
It's a lovely wood, great for getting rid of bad smells in the shed! it's very aromatic. I'll put some in the post to you.

I'll be charging £55, should get extra for the rings!
