As Bob has re kindled the Americana pen kits and Mark had put some of his up. Thought I would share this with you as well.

At the time there was a big debate on where the 'O' rings went.

This one was built up with the o rings put on the end with the fittings rather than between the tubes and the blank.

I remember having a debate about this on another forum, the conclusion was it looked better on the fittings but worked better between the tubes.

But still remember that the 'O' rings were not received very well as looking tacky

This is Amboyna, excuse the pics quality. with the rings on the fittings

This one is Bog oak. I think it was one of the ones that we debated as we had brought them as a Ghent kit...

Its all Bobs fault..:face::face::face:

Two nice ones Eamonn:thumbs::thumbs:
I fought with the O-rings also, untill I realized that maybe they went
just above the threads in a groove that looked like it was made just for the o-ring.
I guess this acted as a cushion. With a rollerball, between the blank and fittings,
the length would be slightly off possibly changing how much tip
would stick out.
But I could be wrong:idontknow:

If I said so many look alike well they do and thats fine I gave up counting at some astronomic number of available and past kits on the market all of them with little surprises. Like your pens here Eamonn.

Peter.
