My Drain saw the state of my razor and suggested she buy me a new one.
Bugger that says I, them things are expensive init?

Razor kits are crap, having made a few I won't do another one of those, (I will and have but only use the business end, I keep the rest closed end)
Took old faithful to shed and chopped it up.

Cleaned it up and stuck a pen blank on it.
A bit of Burr Elm from our Bill (thanks Bill) looked nice on the lathe but went a bit messy after parting off and the glue up is strong, water tight but untidy.
Job for tomorrow after work, tidy this one or drag a kit out of the drawer and do a new un init?

And I thought that I was the recycling nut here. Good job and well saved. I still have a pile of pallets to break up and use.

Nice one Brian, I've just started using the first one I've made to test it out and see how it stands up to time. I gave it a good dousing of ca to hopefully waterproof it... but we'll see. I bought a stand from Vince at the Turners Workshop but they're very expensive at almost £12 for what they are. I look forward to seeing the advance on yours as I have the same Mach 3 in the same state.

But next to nowt is a lot when you have nowt init?
I did it for the play more than than anything else.
I don't gonna mess with it anymore cos I stuck the end in too well, it don't gonna come out of its hole for sure.
It's clean, it shaves and it kept me happy for a while.

Sorry Brian, I didn't mean to sound blase or condescending.

It's always good to deprive Asda and Gillette of a few quid anyway. much better in your pocket than theirs anyday, apart from the satisfaction of making something good out of bad.
I looked earlier this year into going back to the old safety razor as I detest the cost of the mach3 and fusion blades. It has a hell of an enthusiast following but I shudder at the thought of all the nicks and cuts I know I'd suffer from. I'm a wimp really
