I have, as a newby to all this been trying to practice hollowing things (small scale) then thought what would happen if I mixed wood and an offcut of acrylic...

PS I know what’s wrong with it but what the hell it was fun to learn on small bits of wood and off cuts...

Well that is half the battle knowing what is wrong with something as it helps next time. Now go make another with the faults that you know about sorted this will lead to better pieces all round. Look at other peoples work even if you don't comment on it and see if there are things that you can use.
I know that the last pieces I posted there are faults..
One thing I will say that the finial colour although it is acrylic does clash a bit with the wood maybe a wooden one painted black would have looked better or a dark coloured plain acrylic blank. I will not go through everything but I will look forward to seeing the next one.
Above all else don't worry what others think just get onto the lathe and enjoy every moment I do
