Thanks for the kind words. Not actual blanks - in the sense of a single piece of material. I found some rather nice beads when in Hobbycraft with my wife. I'm always on the look out for something different that might just make a pen.

Nice and thinking outside the norm. Was in hobbycraft yesterday, will have to go back now and have another look.
