Hi all......it's finally here it was a long time coming no thanks to Parcel Farce. It cleared customs in two days and then sat in Parcel Farces storage for a month, they told me it was due to customs......customs told me it was due to PF.....and so it continued.....just before it was due to return to the US it was intercepted and I was able to get it moving forward.....but it still took another week.
Parcel Force have on this occasion refunded me their £12 import charge as a good will gesture!!IMG_20181127_143320.jpg
All said and done Kenneth Wines has been brilliant with a fantastic level of service, none of this has been his fault but he has been a true gent dealing with it......I can't wait to get these on the lathe now, they are stunning.
To those that can't see or don't know these are ltd edition jigsaw puzzle blanks made from Spectra ply cut with a rotary axis laser......:drool:

The progress in quality is magnificent and the lift in standards on the forum pleasing.

One time with direct importing from China I had suffered a monumental series of lies and outright lies in Customs coupled with Chinese New Year,Bank of China the title of etc. When I went into local Customs they had a confiscated Stuffed Bear about 9 feet tall on display (enough to give you the heeby jeebies in itself.)

Couple this with a similar hold up time excess charges levied per day. Never the less reason prevailed ,credits given, honour satisfied. Ever since I have had great respect for business people dependant on deliveries from the PRChina and Taiwon.

Feel like hanging up my Chisel for the pen of the month but happy the way it has increased the number of entries with diversity.

Man there are stunning blanks in that parcel mate.

Peter.

Pleased you got 'em in the end. I wonder if Brexit (another word that has entered the English language) will make things any better. Lovely blanks though and would like to see them when turned.

Cheers

Wow they look amazing Mark, can’t wait to see them turned.
I’m going to have to treat myself to one of Kenneth’s jigsaw Blanks one of these days.

You don’t happen to have a spare jigsaw blank knocking around do you? not the spectraply.

Hi Paul, you might have to speak to Brad on that....LOL...

I’ve just had a quick look on Etsy, when purchasing just one the postage works out pretty steep, then with customs on top of that, it would probably cost me well over £40 which is a bit steep lol
Any chance of you adding one to your next order for me? If so roughly how much do you recon one would cost all in?

Hi Paul, yes no probs with that.....this little lot was just over £300, but they come pre assembled unlike Kallenshaan blanks so no risk of breaking bits off:whistling: Customs is always a fly in the ointment but it's only what you would have paid in TAX anyway. They may seem a little expensive per blank but I factor that into the finish price......sometimes it makes people buy another blanked pen or they really want it and will pay the premium.....I think Turner's Workshop used to import the Kallenshaan version, might be worth a look....

I begruged paying £11.34 postage then the Royal Mail handling charge on top of customs vat for just one blank, as that lot would have cost more than the blank itself, so I’ve gone & ordered five of them from him :funny:
