I now refer to this pen making lark as a "full time hobby". Since the start of lockdown I've done quite a lot of it, much more than I had planned or expected. Just to prove the point I now have a logo, and went to the trouble of having it cast in sterling silver coins to add to the end of the caps. I even fill some with coloured resin. Somebody send help...
Anyway the main point of this post was to show that, when it comes to acrylic, I think Kirinite is a really excellent option. Its very affordable (plug for Phil here as Beaufort is one of the best value suppliers), and it is, in my opinion, one of the easiest to work with. When finished it looks very smart. It is fairly translucent so for kit pens most of the colours require internal painting. For kitless it is excellent. Threads really well, it doesn't overheat as readily as some so it doesn't feel like you're partaking in an extreme sport each time you drill a hole. And it polishes beautifully (I buff using compounds).
Anyway enough plugging, here are some pictures of a pen.
Cheers
Ash
