This is my first fountain pen with an inkview and a clip.
I saved the black chrome clip from a ballpoint pen kit.
The attachment of the clip was no problem, but the inkview gave me some hard times.
I had to do three of them before it came fine of the lathe.
This clear acrylic behaves totally different to all other acrylics i turned before.
It´s much more affected by heat while drilling.
Maybe casted acrylics are better for this job and not the extrudet ones i used.
With the first try i got stuck with the drill bit and
i had to smash the inkview with a hammer to get the drill bit free...
The second one i polished the inside and forgot to let free the part where the section
screws in, so after sanding and polishing the hole was way to big to cut the M9x0,75 thread for
the section. i will keep that inkview for a section with M10x0,75 thread.
The third one, finally, was good.
This FP is made of ivory-coulored "JUMA" with black finials. The section is black ebonite
and the inkview is extrudet clear acrylic.
The clip has a black chrome finish and the medium #5 Bock nib is gold plated.
Comments and critics are welcome.
