Can anyone help with a problem I have had off and on for a long time with labels? As you can see in the pic, there is a white mark at the end that happens with roughly half the label blanks I make. I then have to make another one and hope for the best. I print the label on an inkjet printer using high resolution paper and leave overenight. I glue it to the tube using tacky glue (basically sticky PVA) and leave overnight. I seal the label with 2 coats of Mod Podge and leave overnight after each coat. The tube is then cast in PR and left overnight. I can sometimes see the white mark at this stage, depending on where it is, so it is happening as the resin is curing.

It is not separation of the resin from the label as I have seen that before. I thought it might be the resin reacting with the ink, but with 2 coats of sealer this is unlikely, and if it had, you would think there would be signs of the ink in the resin near the mark.

This is costing me a lot of time and resin remaking blanks and I would love to find a cure. I'm sure I can't be the only one to have had this problem.

Mod Podge is water based correct? I'm not a label caster but I would think you might want to try a sealer that isn't water based and see if maybe it gives better results? Someone that knows more about label casting may end up correcting be but I feel like there are several other sealer options out there that might be spray on, etc.
