Labelling Machine

I know it's not a tool for pens, but I bought it for my pen kits, I am fed up of searching box after box of kits to find one I want. When a friend gave me two Ikea 6 drawer cabinets I bought two more and started sorting my kits out. Obviously I can't remember which drawer holds which kits so I bought one of Brother PT-1000 P Touch Hand Held Electronic Labelling System Blue 12mm Tape | eBay and it's brilliant once you decipher the instructions. It only comes with a meagre 47" of black on clear tape so I bought two black on white tapes which are 8metres long, I also found they did iron on fabric tape so that will come in handy for my Granddaughters school kit although I bought fabric labels that she has had to learn to sew on.

All in all it's a great little machine which works with 6 AAA batteries or there is a mains adapter available, it has a 3 year guarantee if you contact brother to register it. The ikea drawers are also great for pen kits.

Must agree with you Peter I have got the older version had it for a few years, saves me hours of searching not only do I use it for pen kits but I have got all my screws and nails in plastic boxes labelled, its a standing joke if we go to Ikea my wife always asks if I need anymore boxes, but I think 100 approx. is enough she thinks I have Autistic tendencies.

My granddaughter asked if I was going to make a label for the label maker, my wife thinks I should have just written labels for the kits, I wanted the gadget, I now have to label everything to show her what a good buy it was

They are great machines Peter I have the P Touch GL100 which looks identical to yours. When I brought mine I used it a lot to make up plant labels which I found great as it did not fade in the sun and all other weathers.

The need for one came about when we were on our Church Mission we had one of their cell phones (immediate label LARGE print) our two phones. There were 13 missionary phones all labelled etc and the disease was under way. The two sizes help a great deal. When we finished last April I was more than happy so many hours every day.

I was watching a comedian on the Michael Mcintyre Show recently he did a Parody on his visits to Ikea. So real in the end he said thats why he had so many animal draught stoppers..Follow the arrows etc. We are learning to lane hop ourselves.

Beaut idea Peter. Ikea is just across the road from Costco and Masters Hardware (now selling out and closing) so we enjoy the journey 20 mins and the ability to browse in these shops. Ikea is very new here so the novelty factor is still high.
Love the convenience of delivery though.

I have a Dymo Letratag Peter and always thought they were a waste of money until I bought it in Costco, don't use it a lot but great when you need it.

We've had one for a couple of years. It was sold specifically as a plant labeller as the labels are laminated. Gets lots of use around the workshop as well though obviously!

THey are battery hungry and I agree the mains adaptor is wise. Frequency of use, age of tapes etc many considerations . I have about forty battery charger needy units its getting very hard to keep track.

I've got a mains charger I could use with mine but I find rechargeable triple A's more convenient. They seem to last well enough between charges. It's hunting round for the best deal on tapes that can be a pain!
