I was given some Laburnum by a very nice man a very very nice man thanks again Doug love it
The log was still a bit wet and turned a treat the shape of the log determined the shape and size of the vase it is 9" wide x 6" tall we love it looks like a keeper

Hi Rob It was cut down a few months ago as a dead tree so it was still a bit wet as for how wet I haven't got a clue I have no wan of measuring water content as for it splitting well it is turned quite thin sides and bottom even the foot is hollowed out but it could still split but if it dose then I will just clean it up and then lace it up or make a feature out of the split only time will tell there are no guarantees with wood wet or dry
