Seeing Neil's Laburnum perfume bottle the other day reminded my of some Laburnum I'd been given, a mate had found it in a load of fire wood he'd had delivered & fortunately for me thought it too nice to burn.
So here is one piece of it on a gun metal slimline finished with Hutt wax

I wondered about the light but seeing the intensity of the shadow think that in real life its probably a bit darker, lovely pen regardless.

Great shape you've given it Doug ...think the photo may be giving a wrong impression of how beautiful it really is.

Thanks for the comments

It is a little lighter than a lot of laburnum I've turned, it even has some light white/yellow streaks in it but they don't show up in the photo.

That's very nice Doug. I love the shape you've got there and the finish is great too.

Doug I too like the way you made the best of the skinny centre band my comments are the same as your pine pen except this timber is different.

Kind regards Peter.
