Evening all. I hope we all had a productive weekend in our sheds/workshops and raring to go for the week ahead.

I’ve made quite a few pens recently. I had a bit of a head of steam so tried to make the most of it.

Usually I prefer to use 13mm cap threads for most of the pens I make. Occasionally I’ll go up to 14mm but I don’t offer anything bigger than that.

This is a 14mm pen with no step on the barrel, so it’s ideal for the “high grippers” amongst us. It has a Jowo no6 nib and is fed by cartridge converter.

Materials used are Omas Amber, Blue Erinoid acrylic, sterling silver and a chrome plated steel pocket clip. The Omas is my all-time favourite synthetic material. I just love this stuff and even though I sold this one I do have a very similar one I made for myself in this colour way.

Cheers
Ash

As always mate, something to aspire too... That blank is something else though, it looks like a real piece of Amber with something frozen within.... Nicely centered within that too.... You always seem to put a lot of thought into your pens with proportions, accents, shoulders, inlays and now frozen insects in Amber!! 🦟

Thanks Mark. It took me ages to scrape all the insects off the car headlights, but it was worth it for the finished effect. 😊😊

So you going to be genetically engineering any large creatures from the left over bits then ?
I thought I’d start with pens, but a Welsh Jurassic park is now very much part of the plan.
Plus I already know a few dinosaurs* so I’ve got a head start 😂😂

(*not referring to anybody on this forum. Obviously.).
