The wood looks like Purple Heart to me. I have made a few pens with that wood and it does confuse people. Often they ask if its been stained!

Lovely work, agree with the wood looking like Pink Ivory, I had a couple of those blanks, one made a lovely gift for my niece, I ruined the second one!
