Vic A simple way to improve pic taking ignoring the flat sheet of paper and the curved behind it is using a lower than this camera angle just the curved 11 by 14 inch copy paper to acheive what is called an endless background or raise the camera height like this. This is all I use and it sure works for me. You also describe wonderful software all superfluous IMHO I use the free Picassa 3. The KELVIN rating of lighting I aim for around 5000 kelvin. Should be found on all bulbs or boxes.

Have fun Peter. The last pic to show I found my marbles. these pics took me fully ten minutes to make from start to forum repeatable and easy, having explored camera angle height and moving lights around, I leave my open box in the lounge on a high cabinet out of the road.
