Another struggle for me again ...think it's time to give 'em a rest for a bit and go back to something easier like the 300 year old hard as iron oak that I've been playing with . The pine cones have been a good experience though, so thanks Peter for the introduction.

Nought wrong with that Ed, I like the way you've used the brass too.

That's another beauty Ed and the brass shows much better. I'm glad you enjoyed, is that the right word:winking: turning them, they are fun, but now as you say, move on:thumbs:

Ed that is one stunning pen mate and the brass powder does look good in this one and that is the first time I have said that cos it normally looks crap in my opinion.
Nice picture too I can't fault this effort well done sir.

Well done Ed, a cracking effort and well worth it. I'm afraid I've given up the pine cones, for a while at least, sorry Peter (Buckeye). I just can't seem to turn them without ripping great chunks out and that with a well honed skew with the grain as it were. Still got a couple of blanks left so might wait a while, till my headache's gone, then have another go.

Well done Ed I can understand why you want a break from doing them but you have to admit they are well worth all the effort and produce an outstanding pen I can wait to do one from a large cone

Don't worry about it Dave, if you need more just say.
