Peter, the laws are in place to protect the consumer here in the UK, retailers are bound by the Sale of Goods act 1979, I don't know if Oz has similar law in place. The firm is clearly is breach and the line that I got, which was "they all do that" is not a defence.

I wouldn't be happy to bodge it together so soon after buying it. It's not right.
