Hi guys not posted in a long time life getting in the way and D.i.Y job in house at home needed to be done .

I saw post on pen turning uk a while someone did a leather blank so I finally ticked this of my list .

I only put three things coats of CA on for the finish try keep bit of the leather feel what I would do different on my next leather blank I would punch or drill each piece to tube size I need and glue onto the tube it was a challenge drilling and getting the tube in chuffed with the result though .

Any tips and tricks on doing these blank would be much appreciated.

Now THAT is something different and very well done Chris.

I agree, drilling / gluing each piece onto the tube would be a safer option, bet that was fun drilling through that lot :shocking:

Love the pen though, that's really nice :thumbs:

I’ve been making leather pens for a few years now. I soak each piece of leather in a good PVA glue and then clamp them to squeeze out the excess. I then tidy up the blank and cover it in PVA again. Allowing to dry thoroughly each time. I do this three times and my final two coats are a good CA glue with a good drying period between each coat. Never lets me down. I also make paper pens using a similar technique. All very messy but great fun!

I did one years ago to match my Estwing hammer, glueing up was the biggest problem!
Very nice job on yours though!
