Hello fellow Pennoisseurs, hope you are all keeping safe and well.
Here's a commissioned Sirocco pen I made this week.
The leather is veg tan with a hand painted lizard. It was nice to put my tiny artist brushes to good use again

Coincidence Christine,I grow tiny Carnivorous Cephalotus plants from West Australia. I grow in a three foot fish tank wholly modified in the lounge. Calling in to where I bought the tank and lots of bits this week I marvelled at the Aussie Blue Tongued Lizards and various other tame breeding stock in the shop. Fantastic use of that pen kit I find difficult to design around,I love the mechanics but find the contra angles of the banding etc.

You bit all my worries with the most superb of beautiful pens.

Kindest regards for your superb work.

Peter.

Thanks for your lovely comments again. Much appreciated. I'm making an axe sheath now
I can imagine the beautiful diverse reptiles you have in your country Peter, we only have a few in the UK but I find them fascinating little critters.

Very nice Christine, how is the image sealed?:drool:
Hi John, I use fiebings leather dyes and finishing products so its quite permanent. Its a bit of a double edge sword as it means if I make a mistake I have to bin it and start all over again.:sob:
I like to wear the cotton glove when sewing it on the tube just to keep it all nice and clean.

Christine, those few that we do have are mostly politicians though.

Normally I would have sent a PM to Christine to say thank you, but I would like to say it publicly.

I commissioned the pen as a wedding anniversary pen for my wife in July to celebrate our 38 th. As a result of the Covid outbreak we were having major postal problems in France for deliveries because the post office was quarantining the post for weeks . So I asked her to make it early and send it early in the hopes that it would make it here in time for the anniversary. Well sods law kicked in and it arrived today a couple of weeks earlier that I expected!!!! So guess what?? well because I am especially vulnerable, she (my wife) has borne the brunt of all the outside shopping and working whilst I have been sheltering, so I just though I would give it to her as token of my love and appreciation :love_it: ( blast I will have to find another anniversary present!!).

Anyway she loved it and the picture was just like the lizards that we watch every sunny morning at breakfast on the wall of our veranda.

So a huge thank you to Christine it was perfect and I have to say very much better than the photos show. It is just so tactile .

AND Happy Birthday for tomorrow 15th May Christine (Leatherlass), may you have many more :thumbs::thumbs::thumbs:
