Leaving gift

Hi all,
I have been busy on another project of late but was asked for a quick gift to present as someone is leaving at work ( not me I hope)
Well below is my offering, made from Horse Chestnut with an Oak desk tray, I fitted a Bock 1.5 italic nib also as they do graphic art

Mark, I think that is the first time that I've seen a horse chestnut pen here and I am impressed.
Nice bit of grain and well suited to the plating.

I've not made a pen from horse chestnut, but I've made a few bowls from it in my time. It's lovely to work with if I remember correctly.

That chestnut looks great and should be well received. I have just cut a load of chestnut and some beech up and I am now looking forward to turning it into pens. Now just have to wait for it to dry, oh and find some more space in an already over full workshop.
