Hi Guys, so I don't hijack Geoff 's thread....
Ideas to convert a std pen kit into a pen like the Leto...
Just use a pin chuck and turn a stopped end pen?
Drill through the blank and insert a plug... Turn down?
Further ideas please??

Its a little like the Cabochon on the mistral, only making them larger to do away with the end caps.

Much like you say Mark, flexi. if you had a ER chuck you could turn a piece down to suit the tube size, then turn it around to shape the end.

all you would need to do then is glue it in the tube.

I often use JG II with a pin chuck, get rid of finials and turn down the centrer band to be able to insert it in the cap. What I like is that when capped, the pen only shows wood. And then, no need to take care of OD's. Now, that is an interesting kit!

I can forget the clip, or use it:
