The beauty of working at home is that dinner breaks can be taken in the shed. Here is a Lignum Vitae that Steve sent me this morning. Its an unusual wood to turn and is quite oily like Thuya but scratches very easily. I had to sand it down to 2000 before applying ca which is the first time I've had to do that. The colours in the wood are beautiful and I hope it shows in the photo.

A lovely bit of timber Paul, and well turned and finished, as always.

Strangley enough, I ended up at home earlier than expected today and almost got one of the bowling balls ready for th lathe, (I had it in my hand!) but decided time was still not on my side.

I'm determined now to try and get this darn mallet at least started this weekend, if I get a finish half as good as that I'll be over the moon, and I doubt it will ever hit anything! :funny:
