Never made one before but up until now seems to be going ok. Hope it hollows out OK. I would be a little upset if I c..ck this one up.

Had to go shopping this morning. The place looked absolutely dead. I am becoming used to being treated like a leper :funny::funny:
even had my temperature taken when entering......32.4

We look forward to seeing that segmented beaut when it's all done and dusted. I had my temperature taken at Tesco the other day, I objected but still had to drop My trousers.

Managed to finish it today. I was bricking it parting it off.

I use various woods including Maple, Oak and Walnut and the joints hold a Walnut veneer.

I am going to keep this one as I quite like it. Not too bad for a first effort me thinks.

Now I have an idea of what to do, might have a go at another one.......made out of pallet wood maybe :thinks:

Thanks Pierre
I had some of the veneer left over from the leaves you sent me some time ago. I used that in the joints.

Was this the one you spoke to me about Frederick. You have done a great job on it and all the joints are nice and tight which is where many let themselves down. Good wood selection as well look forward to the next one.

I know thw time it takes to prepare and glue these up even though I have not done one yet but I was thinking of doing an Indian blanket type design which takes quite a bit of working out and cutting

Hello Derek

Thanks for the kind comments. It is the one I spoke to you about some time ago. I have had a few failures on the way as well. Doing an Indian blanket design sound like a great idea. That would be a little beyond me at the moment and I would love to see how you plan and make it and, of course, how you get on.
