Brian passed a comment on my Slimline in Kingwood yesterday saying that my wood pens looks better than my "plastic" pens, I had noticed when I had posted my plastic pens he commented on my photography but not on the pens. This slimline is made with a burr which I think is Elm. I got the blank off Woody I think but I hadn't written on it what wood it was.
So Brian this one is for you !!!! LOL:bwink:

Just what I would expect from you Neil !!!!

I quite like it really! Nice to see some burr elm on this kit. Unless turning for total pleasure I am a bit of a speed merchant and tend to shy away from burr elm as the different densities lead to a higher failure rate than other woods so don't turn this combination of kit and wood. It is a bit difficult to appreciate the wood though as it is a bit dark as the light source appears to be the other side of the pen leaving it in shadow.
