Dad, I need a fountain pen that doesnt have a thread on it cos the prats at school keep pushing the tops of my pens on with slap of their palm and it keeps stripping the threads. Can you make me one with a magnetic clip on top.

So here it is, No 2 son has got through about six fountain pens, the first bit the dust as it was used as a dart, the second confiscated and lost as it was used to flick ink, and the story goes on, so how long this one will last gawd only knows.

For those of you who havent turned one of these before, (its my first of these), its very angular, the nib end is awkward to hold, the kit goes together simply and quickly, and the magnet is nice and strong. The clip is spring loaded so putting it in a pocket is easy. The blank is revolting, but at least he shouldnt lose it.

As you say Neil he shouldn't loose that one. I like the blank but there you go I am a very cheerful and colourful person.

Neil,
I really like unusual and fancy blanks, as much as I love wooden ones.
Basing your choice on the age of the final user is always part of the job, and since this one is for a young man, the choice, in my humble opinion, is right.
The girls in your son's class will literally fall for this pen .
I tried to focus in my mind a fountain pen used as a dart, and i almost cried laughing:funny:

Neil so often heard in sport the other team is revolting and in these days of PC restraining from my old sayings. Brings me to your pen I love knurling push on caps and for no special reason outragious coloured pens so its a perfect fit for me. When I was a kid the ceilings used to house many a dip pen so I am no stranger to kids antics, mind you the parents are no better at handling screw pens either admire your fortitude at shows. Whenever I lend or show a two piece pen I remove the top and hang on to it for safety sake.

Your son would be proud to have you for a Dad he needs a non operating cross bow by his side and a medal working with schoolies.
