So the last pot I made was very well received, but it turned out to be the wrong shape: Too tall and too thin for her brushes. Bit of a schoolboy error on my part, should have done a bit more R&D.

Still, it's a nice pot, so will get used for something or other.

So here's another one I made this afternoon.

No idea what the wood is, it's from a tree that fell down by our cricket club a few years back, I pinched a couple of logs and they've been sitting in my garage since. I'm hoping to make some large salt and pepper mills out of the rest. Any suggestions as to what it is?

Nice pot looks well turned and finished. The wood looks a bit like some lime I as given, great for carving if it is:whistling:

Yeah, that's it, tools. I've made a pot for me screwdrivers. Init

Here's a pic of the logs. Given the above comments, and after googling ash bark, I think they are ash. They are a much lighter colour than your lime.
