Very informative and useful video thank you Woody

A helpful suggestion here for the next video. It would have been better to move the camera when you were cutting the wood, so we could see what you were doing, rather than looking at your back

Found that video quite inspirational Woody so much so I have just ordered some aluminium and brass shim to have an attempt at making a similar pen

Thanks for the video - very useful for a newcomer to the art of pen-making. Two questions: 1) You didn't seem to make much effort in sizing the tubes down to the bushes - is this because you know from experience how much the sanding will reduce the diameter or is it because that kit is not as critical as some to the wood diameter? 2) What was the finish you applied prior to the wax stick?

Hi Roger sizing well to be honest it just comes as second nature after all these years mate the finish I like using at the moment is Shellwax (liquid) friction polish for spindle work http://www.toolpost.co.uk/pages/Finishes/Shellawax/shellawax.html

A fine example for us all Woody there is no question the way you break the norms is amazing. I felt I was visiting with you and you were having this conversation naturally.
