Ray, if you are trying to match to an existing thread your best bet is to get some thread gauges and measure it. If you just want to make your own pen it doesn't much matter - choose the thread you want and go from there. Being a Metric fella I would recommend M12 to M14 by 0.75mm or 1mm, both of which look pretty fine on the finished object. Some of the AF lads will be along soon to offer you some imperial alternatives.
