After seeing what Ed did with his Masur Birch, I thought I'd get mine out and have a bash. Love this wood !

I wanted to do something a little different so had my first bash at a 1 piece slimline.

Friction polish finish, chrome slimline kit from TB.

Criticism more than welcome ! ( I know the nib end is wrong )

Very nice Phill but personally I wouldn't use a piece of wood like that on a slimline, but thats just me.

Very nice Phil. I like different and this is different. Its a lovely piece of wood and I haven't seen a one piece like this before so in my opinion its superb for a first go. I'm not sure I would have used such a nice piece of work for an experiment but you've got a lovely pen there.

I didn't put it in the opening post, but I'm not sure about this one having made it :funny:

I used the Masur in an attempt to really show off the wood to it's best, I can see why some people would probably have used a Baron or such like larger "quality" pen.

I struggled trying to shape it because of not having the centre reference point, I guess that will come with practice.

I do like the wood though, it really zings when you put the finish on.

Thanks to Lignaterrae for the blanks, top quality. Looks like you will be seeing quite a bit more of my money :funny:

Love it Phil...never seen a one piece Slimline before..... it's great !.

PS. Went out for Sunday dinner today and took the one I did yesterday with me to flash off . A chap asked me 'how much' but I wanted to keep it a bit longer so I said 40 quid ...he said don't wrap it 'I'll take it as it is. So it's gone :sob:
