Evening all,
I've been asked to make a matching pair (fountain and ballpoint) pens in Ebony.

Can anyone suggest a good quality kit pair. This is for a gentleman's 60th Birthday

Thank you

I agree try Phil.

HERE are the fountain pen and roller ball but if you go to his site you will also see the matching kit which takes the ballpoint pen

For convenience and ease of purchase the Mistral should fill the bill. Be very aware Ebony is a tricky timber over here the best quality is rare as ,it has a definite history of splitting, faults from within etc, subject to overheating easily during drilling and the sanding process.

Not tried to turn any yet even though I have some why not try African black wood if you want to use wood.

I have turned Phils ebonite. It turned fine, usual micro mesh and then microcrystalline finish.

Noted Gents,
I'm about to order the kits and I'll have a look at the ebonite. To be honest I like the thought of Ebonite, nice and stable and easy to finish.
