A good friend has recently shown an interest in turning & is on the look out for a lathe, with this in mind & needing to come up with a present I figured every turner needs a parting tools so this evening I made him this.

The blade is from Ashley Iles, the handle turned to match the Robert Sorby style handles in some home seasoned English Ash, a couple more coats of oil tomorrow & it will be ready for the birthday boy on Wednesday.

Cheers Jim, the Sorby style of handle is definitely my favourite of all the brands I've tried.
