Mechanisms thread size.

Hi does anyone know what the thread size is that's used for the standard mechanisms?. I bought a pen kit turned the blank assembled the pen only to find the thread has not been cut to take the mechanism. Before I dismantle the pen. (It's for a customer) I thought if I new the thread size I could run a tap down it and save the pen.

First things first name and pic of the pen kit,one from the instructions may help,stage 2 the seller. Having asked how long is a piece of string.

What is the caliper measurement? Its not compulsory to have a reciprical thread some are always push fit. All the best Dave..........Peter.

As above, we need to know the kit!
Phil Dart (Beaufort inks)stocks various taps and dies for triple start threads on fountain pens but these are not cheap so you need to buy the right one:wink:

This is the kit it came from TM the top of the pen were the mechanism goes to deploy the ink refil has not been threaded. If I knew the thread size I could tap it. Otherwise the pen is useless.

A reputable supplier used by many on here, I suggest you contact him before doing anything else.

Im not suggesting its the suppliers fault. Its obviously been missed in the production process. I just thought if I knew the thread size it would an easy fix.
